ABOUT

I am a third year Cultural Studies and Social Anthropology student at the University of Kent.

I have created this interactive space as part of a Visual Anthropology module. This project has enabled me to express particular concepts in a reflexive way that I believe are of value to society; such as self-sufficiency, cohesion in communities and exchange which are especially important in these uncertain times.

Throughout my ethnographic project I tried filming as if the viewer were there themselves, that the lense of my camera were their eyes. I wanted them to have the same sense of immersion within nature as I did. My project is extremely reflexive; my thoughts and observations alone are what have driven the body of this project. However I have tried to present my observations in a transparent way, allowing the viewers to make up their own overall assumptions and conclusions.

I wanted to created a platform that was not only visually appealing but also informative, one that showed a clear drive, but also one that is experimental and that allows the viewer to have a choice and opinion on the recorded observations.
